Olympe de Gouges published Declaration Of The Rights Of Women And The Female Citizen on 15 September 1791. She was later executed for her part as a prominent Girondist in the French Revolution.

A Vindication Of The Rights Of Women was published by Mary Wollstonecraft in 1792. She later died in 1797 as a result of the birth of her daughter Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, best known as the author of Frankenstein.
